An estimated 30,000,000 dogs and cats die across Asia each year, all in the name of human consumption.
Not only are these animals being consumed in various parts of our world, they are being brutally tortured to death as many cultures genuinely believe that the more the animal suffers, the more tender their meat will be. You may think these are stray or wild dogs but that is not often the case as many of these precious creatures are stolen directly from their homes or sold by their owners for profit. Once they enter the slaughterhouses, many still wearing collars or microchips, the torture begins and doesn’t stop until they are killed.

Harbin SHS Animal Rescue
When we began rescuing animals in July of 2016, we took in only a handful of dogs and we were petrified. We learnt as we went, and with each case came new experience. Our numbers quickly increased, as the vast amount of dogs in need came apparent. It also immediately became obvious to us that this is what we want to do long term, as a team. With over 800 animals, having come through our rescue, and with more followers, volunteers and partnership rescues supporting our efforts, we want this year to see even more animals finding safety, receiving treatment and getting their well deserving and overdue happily ever afters.
